Mom wakes at butt crack of dawn to shower and TRY to get dressed and look human before her kids wake up (and do it all without COFFEE because mom has had to QUIT CAFFEINE!!!) So Mom, showers, dresses, takes 3min to step outside and enjoy fresh air before kids are awake, never mind the fact that it is time spent putting three dogs outside to potty. *sigh* And the rottenest dog won't stop jumping on your work clothes. Husband sleeps in an extra hour or two, because GOSH forbid he wake up early to help *sigh*. When he gets off work he comes home to relax. I come home from work and scramble to get things done, not to mention tonight was a double shift day.
Go inside to find all three kids are kid zombies on the couch staring at you blankly and the ONLY words they can say is "feed", "Us", "Mom" Rather creepy, like from a horror movie, only...it's real life. So you feed them. Then gripe at them for 45min to HURRY UP and get your butts dressed. Literally. I can see your butt kid, put your undies on, and YES you have to wear undies, and NO you can't wear the same ones you wore yesterday! You have PE today, wear your tennis shoes, no I said TENNIS SHOES not sandals. Library books? Do you all have yours?? What do you mean you can't find yours? School has been going on for BARELY a month and you already lost a library book?
*Face palm* Lord help me today. I may not make it through.
FINALLY get kids walked to bus stop. Do cart wheels when they are on bus (only I can't do cart wheels because the laws of gravity hate me, I do face plants, that takes enough talent as is, ok?)
Get home and realize you really don't know when the last time was you saw the car keys. That's sucky. OH and your Kindle is missing from your trip over the weekend to visit your mom.
Officially realize you have no more marbles left to lose. There was no small hole in your bag, someone just dumped those fuckers out and let'em roll a long time ago!

Above: Group photos with my Mother and my two nephews, and my three kids. My sister was missing because she was at work when we got to stop by. Had so much fun visiting my Mother over the weekend.
Below: Me with my Mother, I don't get to see her often!

You silently curse your mom for putting the mom curse on you. Remember to 'thank' her for that later. Especially the part where she said she hoped your kid was 3x worse than you, and guess what? You have three kids, and yep. They are all worse (in some ways) than you were as a kid.
Karma.
So once kids are in school and you find yourself frantically trying to search for car and house keys (because you just had a new lock put on your door and the ONLY key you had is still on that key ring...that you just lost, and you have to go to work in like 45min. (A lot happens at my house in 45min in case you were ever wondering...)
While you are digging in the bushes, and garbage can by your front porch the neighbor scares the SHIT out of you by walking into the yard and saying your name.
I nearly dropped dead. NO JOKE. My heart hurt after that. Not. Cool.
Good news, I found the keys...in the house. In the last place I would have considered I left them. With my paint supplies which makes sense as I was painting my little heart out this weekend. Had to stop and move the car out of the drive way so the kids could have more space to play basketball and then I went back to painting on the front porch (my little craft signs I was working on) and I dropped the keys into my tub of paint. Really?? Ack.

Above: My daughter has been really in to painting and I love it! Above she is holding her latest painting titled "OWL". Painted on a canvas her Grandma got her for her birthday this weekend! Along with some new paint brushes.
Below: is some of my projects. TRYING to make my house more festive...

So yeh. Keys found, then helped a neighbor out whose kids had missed the bus.
Somewhere in there I straightened by hair (possibly while sitting on the toilet tinkling, and talking on the phone to my best friend. I'm a multitasker).
Made it to work with just a couple minutes to spare, go me!
Work my shift, and stay 45min extra (What is it with me and 45min??)
Came home for an hour, and in that time...got kids off the bus, gave them a snack, went through back packs...sorta. Found a babysitter for two of the kids so the husband could take the third one to soccer practice. I had to be back at work for a double shift tonight.
I leave the kids with the husband and I head out the door for work. Exhausted because I just wrestled a kid into his soccer gear because dad has less patience for it than I do. SOCCER SOCKS ARE THE WORST, and cleats are a close second. Also shin guards are a necessary evil.
Work was fine.
Husband and kid show up from soccer practice, and we all go home. Pick up kids from sitter, and realize how LATE it is and that I have no time to make supper (because the husband didn't do it earlier???) so we run to the store to pick out lunchables (yeh yeh yeh I know I know, shove it, ok?) and to pick up cookies for my daughter to share with her classmates at school for her birthday, which was Saturday.
Oh and I still forgot to grab a jug of milk. However I did remember to grab them lunch for the field trip on Thursday. So I got one thing right.
On the way home from the store the husband and I were discussing what was coming up tomorrow (one kid has football practice), and then we were discuss the rest of our week, and month....
It dawned on us. Our kids have more of a social life than we do. In fact...my husband and I don't even HAVE a social life. We aren't even social. Work, kids activities, clean house, home work, cooking, yard work, shopping....yeh that pretty much makes up our entire life. The only adult interaction we get is at work when we talk to our co workers. Or the few moments we get each day to shout across the lawn or drive way to a neighbor "HI HOW ARE YOU!!" (distant muffled reply) "YEH US TOO IT'S BEEN CRAZY!!" (another distant muffled reply) "YEH HAVE A GREAT DAY TOO!! BYE!!" (Waving). I don't really call that adult interaction though???
I know that currently I should be folding laundry and starting a new load, and getting clothes out for my two sons for tomorrow. Maybe doing dishes, sweeping, vacuuming (when WAS the last time I vacuumed??)
Doesn't help I've been out sick for a week. I mean I was feeling rough. I am still not up to par. I had an ultra sound on Friday to try and find out what's going on, but the doctor and I have been playing phone tag for those results!
And no, for all you FUNNY people there is no baby. I am done. No more kids for me. No no no. People think they are joksters when they find out you are going to have an ultra sound done of your pelvic region and abdominal areas. Hardy har har.
I officially have a Brownie Girl Scout in my house, and my boys are officially Cub Scouts! They are so excited! Can't wait for their first meeting, whenever that will be. Still waiting on info on that. My daughter has had MULTIPLE meetings already! Girl Scouts is pretty awesome, so I am looking forward to see how awesome Scouts are for my boys. Just one more thing to add to our schedule.

I have one son playing soccer. Another son in flag football. Daughter in Girl Scouts. Right as soccer and football are ending my daughter will start up in basketball. The boys will take a break in any kind of sport until spring so they can focus on school and being a kid and not being rushed. My daughter is taking a break from sports this fall for the same reason (cept she does have scouts). Though my husband REALLY wants the boys in wrestling this winter. Me? I'm not so sure.

Above: My son playing soccer (he's the one on the end throwing his ENTIRE body in to his kick...)

My son doing what he loves to do...play soccer!
I laughed hysterically when I saw my calendar for September. Every single day cept three days had something written on it that we had to do. Some kind of meeting, or practice or game, or school thing. WHY? Is all of that even reasonable???
I'm losing track of everything. I mean I'm hanging on to something one second, and then set it down to help a child and in that minute that thing walks off and I'm like "OMG where did it go??? I JUST HAD IT!! WHERE DID I PUT IT??!!" I have zero brain power left. Zero. Tank is EMPTY. The reserves have been used up.
The kids are enjoying sports though, and having friends over to play and just being over all, awesome kids. I can't tell their cute faces no (I mean yes I can, and do often but you know what I mean!!) Love watching them play with friends!

Kids playing over the weekend just being kids.

My daughters birthday pancakes from Saturday.

Homecoming week was this past week and of course we had to participate. Above and below you have two pics from that, one is hat day the other is super hero day.

Above, is my other guy enjoy the heck out of some flag football! First season playing and he loves it.
Everything seems so hectic and crazy. Then there are those calm sweet moments and you are like yeh. This is right. This is all just perfect and the way it should be. Like those moments when you are on the soccer field watching your son play soccer and seeing his BEAMING face as his kicks that ball down the field towards the goal and you hear all the parents shouting your sons name, but you know HE hears you over the crowd. Even if the goalie blocks the shot, it doesn't matter to you one bit. You still yell "GREAT KICK!! KEEP IT UP!! You cheer for your kid anyway and he just looks at you and beams. You know that this is a good thing. This moment.
That moment on the foot ball field when you are watching your other son play flag football in his very first game ever, and he is just grinning his mischievous grin from ear to ear and eagerly listening to every word the coach says in the huddle and then they do their line up, and when the ball is passed to him...he runs like the wind and runs and runs even though the other team grabbed his flag already. He doesn't care. HE got the ball, he KNOWS what he needs to do. You cheer for him anyway and know that this is a good thing. This moment.
When you are watching your daughter on the Homecoming float with her fellow Girl Scouts, and she is beaming and waving to all of the people watching the parade and shaking her little pom pom yelling and cheering our towns High School football team on. Noticing how much she's growing up, and my gosh. She's eight now! You know that this is a good thing. This moment.
Not every moment is hectic. So many moments are just beautiful. Snuggles at bed time, reading books together, singing your sons to sleep at night, walking your dogs in the evening with nothing but the light of the moon to light your way and the sound of your dog's paws on the ground. The chirp of crickets, the chirp of birds, the sound of the train as it goes through town. Little things. They slow life down a bit and let you breathe. Suddenly you don't really mind waking up that early to get that shower in, or staying up a little later to get that laundry folded.
