Dance of the Animal Cracker Circus: March 2014

Wow, it's been almost two months since my last post. Almost forgot I had a blog honestly! Life has been keeping me pretty busy and I've been trying to avoid staying up super late. However, I thought I'd make an exception to the rule tonight! (But then I didn't and I went to bed instead and finished it up later the next day, because I love sleep).

Our cat Hagrid, love sleep too, he also loves to watch the coffee pot every morning. Our morning faces, are the same.

Life is still moving right along like usual. Kids are keeping busy with school. My daughter is loving her first year of elementary school. She is such a hard worker in Kindergarten. She adores her teacher and her classmates. At the parent teacher conferences the teacher never has anything bad to say.

They did a play that was about the tortoise and the hare titled "Race to the Finish" my daughter was a woodland creature, she chose to be this adorable little blue bird. She was the 7th child to speak her line was "Sure beat me, by a hair!" She rocked her line and was awesome. She was adorable during all of the songs, and she was just gorgeous. We were very proud of her!

After getting an award at a kindergarten school assembly. She FINALLY got the Kiwanis award, which she's been working on getting all year. She's gotten a bucket filler award as well, and got a perfect attendance award as well. She looooves school! She really wants the reading and math awards, and I know she'll do it she's a hard worker.

My sons are enjoying their last year of preschool and are really anticipating Kindergarten in August. They have quite the personalities in class, but are good kids and again the teachers have good things to say about them.

Girl Scouts is my daughters current favorite thing, she has really enjoyed selling cookies, attending Girl Scout activities, and making new friends. She is always excited to earn new patches and recently got her Daisy vest. The girls are so adorable out and about! I look forward to years of watching my daughter excel in Girl Scouts.

Finally my daughter and husband had a successful Daddy/Daughter dance. Our daughter didn't have a single melt down she handled all of the noises and lights WONDERFULLY. She walked into that auditorium and owned the place! Her Daddy was so happy that they FINALLY had the most wonderful Daddy/Daughter dance. She has been doing so well with her sensory processing issues. She's come a long way! She still has a few issues here and there, and they will be things she has to work on for her entire life, but she has come a very long way!

The theme was masquerade ball, so she went as the "white swan" and her Daddy was wearing black and had a black mask and was the "black swan". They had so much fun :)

The kids were recently signed up for baseball, and they are super excited to play. However, my sons currently think all sports are baseball. Soccer is baseball, golf is baseball, basketball is baseball, football is baseball....my husband who is a sports fanatic is slightly at a loss. He isn't sure whether to be super proud they are that excited to play baseball, or alarmed at the fact they seem to have little knowledge of sports. I say, let them be kids and just have fun with it.

My husband was all excited when we signed the kids up for baseball, they asked if he wanted to coach. He was so thrilled to jump at that chance. He asked the kids "Do you want Daddy to be your baseball coach and teach you to play?!" They all looked at him and said in unison "NO DADDY" So his ego is slightly deflated. He said he's watch them play this year and see how they do and then NEXT year he'll coach them. I say....if they won't take directions from you at home in our own back yard....what makes him think they'll listen to him on a baseball field, when the boys are holding baseball bats....wait...why did I put them in a sport that involves a "weapon". *sigh* Is there a "safe" sport to put my sons in that won't involve them pummeling each other to death? Nope.

At least they are on the same team...I *THINK* that's a good thing...maybe. I'll get back to you on that in May or June when baseball season starts.

My nephew was born on the 12th of March, he's sooo adorable! We were able to go visit him this weekend and oh my cute and tiny sweetness! I just wanted to snuggle him ALL DAY LONG! I got lots of adoooorable photos of them though so that'll just have to do until I get to go see him again.

I'm so happy for my baby sister and her boyfriend. I wish them the very best with their sweet bundle of joy.

I am probably the happiest auntie in the world. I am sooo in love with this little nephew of mine! So proud of my baby sister. Xzavier born March 12th!

Tonight we attended a really fun kids concert that has come to our town for 10 years in a row, we've attended the last 6 years that they've been coming and we look forward to several years more! It's good family fun and kids of all ages really enjoy it, and so do the parents. Jim "Mr. Stinky Feet" Cosgrove travels around doing concerts for children and their families. They are fun and silly songs that get kids and their families up and moving. We are a big fan, incase you can't tell.

During the concert Mr. Stinky Feet himself chooses kids to come up on stage to join the band. The first time around none of them got picked, the 2nd time around one of my sons and my daughter got chosen, try explaining to the twin that DIDN'T get chosen why he has to wait. At the end of the show parents are invited to go on the stage so of course I went up, and all three kids went up with me.

LOVE this photo! I love the action and excitement my daughter is showing. She stuck like glue to her little buddy there in the red shirt. They've known each other since birth and are in the same kindergarten class and they had so much fun hanging out at the concert.

Yep she was totally beyond excited to be at the concert. He is "famous" according to my daughter and she thinks he's "REALLY COOL!"

We've had a lot of snow around here this winter, and with the weather continually flip flopping we're beginning to wonder if spring is every actually going to happen or if Mother Nature is playing some sick cruel joke on us.

Had some very good friends come up from Oklahoma to visit last week. It was so great to see them! We went bowling, made cupcakes and cookies with the kids, played Just Dance, and I took them out to have some family pics done while they were in town. All in all, it was a fun week. I miss them and hope we get to catch up again soon!

So glad her and her daughters were able to come and visit.

Earlier this month my daughter and I attended the Mother/Daughter tea party that we love to attend every year since it started. This year I was able to get a ticket for a good friend of mine and her youngest daughter, so it was nice having friends with us to enjoy their first official "tea party". It's a lovely event!
